Congratulations to Rebecca Drummond, ESNZ Volunteer of the Month for November 2020!

Rebecca is Area Secretary for Otago as well as the show secretary for all the Otago shows and also the South Canterbury North Otago (SCNO) shows this season! Phew!

Jumping and Show Hunter Sport Manager Marilyn and Jumping Sport Administrator Holly from ESNZ national office said “Rebecca does an absolutely amazing job as show secretary for these shows! We require shows to send us their schedules for ESNZ approval, the schedules Rebecca sends through are always perfect. She has all the jumping article numbers with the classes, sponsors listed, ESNZ fees listed, sponsors’ banner included and best of all, they are all listed correctly! No amendments needed from us, it’s fantastic!”

Anne Beattie from Otago Showjumping also has high praise for Rebecca, calling her “our not so secret weapon” on their committee.

“She has us all organised administratively and goes over and above normal secretarial duties.  We are very lucky,” said Anne.

Marilyn and Holly also said that Rebecca always get the shows results to them quickly despite on one occasion last season, having a severe chest infection and being hospitalised right after a show and an injured horse at the vets on another. Rebecca has been known to be up at all hours to get the results through to Marilyn and Holly quickly so riders get to see their points go up on the leader boards.

“Not only are her results quick, so are the other forms we require from shows like the levy and rebate application. We receive all the results, Levy Report, Rebate Application and all the details filled out perfectly, all in the same email!” they said.

“Rebecca goes well and truly above and beyond for a secretary. This year she attended our online technical seminars so she could gain a better understanding of the rules to help out our riders and judges!”

“Marilyn and I are so grateful for the amazing job Rebecca does as the Otago Area, Otago shows, and SCNO shows secretary! We absolutely love her work and what she does for our riders and sport!” said Holly.

Thank you so much Rebecca, you’re an absolute star and we’re lucky to have you.
