About the ESNZ Annual General Assembly

The ESNZ Annual General Assembly acts as a platform for discussions, voting on any major decisions of ESNZ and the governance of the sport and is also an opportunity for you to meet and talk with people governing your sport in person.

The business which must be transacted at the AGA includes:

  • The Annual Report of ESNZ
  • Items of business of which notice has been given under Article 20.1.b
  • Election of the President and the Vice President
  • Appointment of the Auditor
  • Any alterations to the ESNZ Constitution

Each discipline is entitled to Nine Voting Delegates.

Notice of the 69th Annual General Assembly of Equestrian Sports New Zealand is hereby given to all Members:

Venue:  West Plaza Hotel, 110 Wakefield St, Wellington

The AGA will consider formal business including the approval of the audited annual accounts, election of officials and any Honorary Life Memberships to be conferred as well as consider any proposed amendments to the Constitution.

Any resolutions and general business must be with the ESNZ Chief Executive no later than (DATE TO BE ADVISED) and can be forwarded by email to dana@nzequestrian.org.nz

We will advise if and when elections are open for the positions of President and Vice-President of ESNZ.  Nominations for President and Vice-President must be with the ESNZ Chief Executive no later than (DATE/TIME TO BE ADVISED).

ESNZ looks forward to welcoming Members to the Annual General Assembly.  The AGA is an opportunity for you to meet and talk with people governing your sport in person, so please take the opportunity to come along and be involved.

Workshop – CONTENT TO BE ADVISED

Prior to the AGA, ESNZ will be holding a workshop and training for Officials, OCs and area groups on dealing with conflict and difficult situations.  Those interested in attending can REGISTER HERE

ESNZ has recently rewritten rules and disciplinary processes.  We wish to educate and upskill officials and volunteers who will have to apply these rules and have asked the Sport NZ Business Capability Team for advice.

2019 ESNZ AGA

The 2019 68th Annual General Assembly of Equestrian Sports New Zealand was held on Wednesday 25th September in Wellington at the West Plaza Hotel.

ELECTION

Mr Richard Sunderland was elected to the position of ESNZ President for the 2019-20 season, and Lynda Clark was elected to the position of Vice President

WORKSHOPS

ESNZ ran a workshop, in conjunction with the AGA about how to have Difficult Conversations.

2018 ESNZ AGA

The 2018 67th Annual General Assembly of Equestrian Sports New Zealand was held on Tuesday 9 October in Wellington at the West Plaza Hotel.

ELECTION

Mr Richard Sunderland was elected to the position of ESNZ President for the 2018-19 season, and Nick Pyke was elected to the position of Vice President

WORKSHOPS

ESNZ ran two workshops, in conjunction with the AGA

  • Dr Stephen Kara of Axis Sports Medicine presented our workshop on concussion in equestrian sports, and the new blue card for concussion and serious injury
  • Graeme Nahkies of Boardworks presented a workshop on Governance Training
