Tim and Jonelle Price have underlined their status as the golden couple of eventing, finishing the 2021 season third and fifth respectively in the world FEI rankings.

It’s been a tough season, with many events cancelled, but Team Price have travelled far and wide to keep their horses in top competition.

“The rankings are a bit hard to follow and comprehend at the moment, but that aside, we are very happy to both sit inside the top five,” says Jonelle who moved from seventh to fifth. “Not bad for a little nation! It’s nice recognition of some great 5* results this year.”

Oliver Townend (GBR) remains at no. 1 with Tom McEwen (GBR) moving from fourth to second and Piggy March (GBR) dropping from second to fourth.

The FEI introduced a new system to provide a level playing field for athletes, calculating rankings over extended timeframes, guaranteeing there will always be at least 12 months of normal competition in the calculation. Just the best six results count towards an athlete’s ranking. Things are set to return to normal in January.
