Jumping and the Wellington Area are thrilled to announce the Wellington Area recipient of the ESNZ and NZPH Star Spotters Scholarship, Amber Sceats and Jackie Gianos. Wellington had such fantastic applications, they have funded a second star themselves!
Amber is 13 years old and attends Pauatahanui Pony Club. Amber has been riding since she was 6 years old and attended Pony Club for a season and is working towards her C certificate. Amber rides Motutangi Mde U Look, known at home as Dora, a 14 year old, 148cm, Skewbald, Mare. Amber and Dora have been together for a year and a half and currently compete in Cat C Show Hunter, Amber’s goals for the season are to compete in Cat C Show Hunter consistently and compete at HoY.
Jackie is 14 years old and attends Onslow Pony Club. Jackie has been riding for 7 years and attended Pony Club for the last 2 seasons, she is working towards her C+ certificate. Jackie rides Hirondelle, known at home as Nikki, a 15 year old, 162cm, Dark Bay, Warmblood, Mare. Jackie and Nikki have been together for 6 months and currently compete at 90cm-1m. Jackie’s goals for the season are to be consistent in 1m classes and move up to 1.05m as well as getting out to more shows!
Amber and Jackie will be mentored by Heloise Tolo and Antonio Matangi and also supported by the Wellington Committee.
