Kiwi eventers and jumpers are competing in Ireland and Poland at some of the final events to impress selectors before teams are named for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Team Price are on fire, leading three of the sections at the Millstreet International Horse Trials. World no.2 Tim Price heads two sections and is very handy with nearly all of his horses across the event.

He and Falco are at the front of the 18-strong CCI4*-L field after the dressage with a 28 penalty point dressage score with James Avery and Mr Sneezy in fourth equal on 31.5, Tim aboard Spartaco in seventh with 32 and Hollie Swain aboard Solo on 41.

In the CCI4*-S, Tim leads aboard Ascona M on 20.1 and is third aboard veteran Ringwood Sky Boy on 26.5. Jonelle Price has a trio in the top 12, sitting in sixth on 29.7 with Killbunny Andy, 11th with McClaren on 31.9 and 12th with Faerie Dianimo on 32.3. James and Sportsfield Lord Liversey is in 19th on 34.8 in the 28-strong field.

In the CCI3*-L, Jonelle and Faerie Magnifico are tied at the top of the 33 competitors on 27 penalty points. Hollie and Drumnaconnell Nico are 10th on 32.9, with Jonelle and Curly Girl 14th equal on 33.9.

James and Dallas 13 are the only Kiwis in the CCI2*-L and share the lead on a score of 26.2.

In Poland, at the Poznan CSI4* show Bruce Goodin and Backatorps Danny were second in the big tour 1.5m class, going double clear and stopping the clock at 42.14 seconds. Winner Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski (POL) came home in 41.59 in the 55-strong field. Also in the field were Richard Gardner and Calisto 5 who had a rail and a single time fault.

Richard and Cromwell 32 were just in the money with a double clear in the medium tour 1.40m class which attracted 94 combinations.
