The FEI Equine Prohibited Substances List Group – the sub-committee of the Veterinary Committee responsible for the FEI Equine Prohibited Substances List (EPSL) – has met to consider changes to the 2021 EPSL.

A detailed review of the Controlled Medication list was carried out in 2021 and as a result there are a large number of proposed changes to the list. Many of these are due to movement of substances from one category to the other or for substances that previously were prohibited by having a similar molecular structure and/or pharmaceutical action as a named substance on the EPSL, have now been named for clarity. The proposed changes to the EPSL can be found here. Any accepted changes will come into effect as of 1 January 2022, and are subject to consultation and review before their implementation.

For the purpose of Clean Sport, ESNZ has chosen to adopt the FEI Regulations and Prohibited Substances Databases. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with these for ALL ESNZ competition.
