The Equestrian Entries NZ Dressage Youth Festival gets underway under stunning blue skies at the Taupo NEC today.
As well as champions in each grade, three ESNZ National Titles are being contested; the Hyland Trophy for the Open Pony Championship, the Waldebago for the Young Rider Championship and the KH Arvan Trophy for the U25 Grand Prix Champion. 

A small but strong field of three combinations contest the Pony Championship ridden at FEI Pony Leve:. Samantha Wells (Waikato) Gangnam Style, Mikayla Wildermoth(Taranaki) Thumbellina II,  and Morgan Abel-Pattinson(Auckland) Pioneer North East

Five combinations line up in the U25 FEI Small Tour Championship: Anna Wilson (Waikato)Neversfelde Rupert, Rebecca Williamson (Waitemata) Don Tobio, Nicole Sweney (Waikato)Flute Noir, Ben Weir NPE (Waitemata)Del Rico and Bella Small (Auckland) Lord Louis.

The U25 Grand Prix Freestyle will feature four combinations beginning at 5.15pm:  Lucarne Dolley (Waikato) Ardmore, Caitlin Benzie (Auckland) Stoneylea Lancelot – owned by Jen Sim, Amy Sage (Waikato) RM All About Me & Rebecca Williamson (Waitemata), Don Amour MH – owned by Jon & Wendi Williamson.  

The North Island Team to contest the Richmond Saddlery InterIsland Challenge were presented with their team gear by national Selector Karen Anderson. Team members are Iris Hutt (Captain) riding Vollrath Lilac (Waikato), Rebecca Mobberley (Sayonara FE) Wairarapa, Sachleen Kaur (Auckland) and Morgan Abel-Pattinson (Auckland) Lancewoods Copper Delight
