Amanda Condon – A Passion for Partnerships

Dressage NZ welcomes Canterbury’s Amanda Condon to the team in the role of Dressage NZ Partnership Facilitator. We look forward to Amanda joining us in early December and sharing her expertise in not-for-profit fundraising and her enthusiasm for dressage .

On accepting the role,  Amanda said “I thrive on building mutually beneficial relationships to ensure both the sponsored and sponsors achieve their goals.

I have a background in marketing and fundraising, fed by my passion for searching out opportunities and events appropriate for sponsorship. Until earlier this year I was the Marketing Manager at Discover Travel where I executed, in collaboration with a small team, an auction fundraising event for Tanzania’s The Plaster House raising over $29,000. Before that, during my time as St Michael’s Church School’s Marketing Manager, I secured over $129,000 in grant funding for a new playground, IT enhancements, and musical instruments.

In a volunteer capacity this year I assisted organising the Pryde’s EasiFeed Dressage NZ 2020 South Island’s Young Rider Development Camp. I took on the role to secure a variety of sponsors who donated goods to the camp, ensuring all the riders received a fantastic goodie bag of products. In return, and to reinforce the important message of gratitude, all sponsors received a thank you card signed by the riders.

My daughter Beth has been riding horses all her life, and we have been involved in the Dressage community in Canterbury for the past eighteen months. Beth has successfully competed to graded Novice level, and is looking forward to continuing to move up through the levels. We regularly attend working bees at McLeans Island NEC, and always ensure we assist on event days: be it writing, collecting test papers, putting away arenas, or assisting other competitors.

When I’m not working, I’m busy at home in Ohoka, North Canterbury, with my husband and daughter, two dogs, and a couple of horses.

I am looking forward to building strong relationships with our current loyal sponsors, obtaining new sponsors, and meeting everyone involved with Dressage NZ”.
