If your horse is registered with a breed association, you can now send a copy of your breed papers to ESNZ to have your horse’s record validated.

ESNZ will double check the details of the breed certificate against our database records, make any corrections required in the database and upload a copy of the breed papers to the horse’s profile before validating the horses’ record.

Once validated a green shield symbol will appear alongside your horse’s name – example below.

ESNZ has been working with the NZ Warmblood Association, NZ Hanoverian and Rheinland studbooks to validate horses competing in Dressage Age Group classes after ESNZ Dressage made it compulsory for the age of all horses and ponies entered for Young Dressage Horse or Pony Classes to be verified by evidence to prove the age of the horse or pony.

While not compulsory in other disciplines, it is recommended if your horse is registered with a breed society or association that you send in a copy of the breed papers to have your horse’s record validated, especially for those competing in age group classes and series and breed classes or series.

WHY VALIDATE YOUR HORSE?

Validating your horse has many benefits:

  • Validates the horses age for competing in age group classes and series
  • Validates the horses age for competing in breed classes and series i.e. TiES
  • Ensures accurate data
  • Gives recognition to the breeders and breed societies and associations
  • Accurate data ensures accurate sire rankings

Any member who wishes to have their horses record validated, please email a copy of your breed paper to [email protected]
