Tim Price and Wesko have finished third at Les Etoiles de Pau, in the only CCI5* of the year.
The French event attracted a star-studded field with hugely-competitive scores all round, with Brit Laura Collett and London 52 leading from the get-go and finishing on their 21.3 penalty point dressage score.

Tim and Wesko picked up 0.8 of a time penalty in the showjumping to finish on 24.2 for third. “Wesko – for an old boy – I couldn’t be more happy,” said Tim. “He went in and he just knows his job so well even though it was after a gruelling day’s cross country, he steps up and just works really well.”

Jonelle Price and Grovine de Reve were just in the money with their 37.5-penalty point effort which included a rail in the showjumping. Tim and Xavier Faer were right behind them in 13th on 37.5, going clear in the showjumping but adding 0.4 time, and he was 14th aboard Ringwood Sky Boy, adding a rail to finish on 37.6.

Tim was very pleased with all his horses. “The horses were good and I am very happy with everyone,” said the world No. 2. “I am super pleased they all jumped so well and it was a great result.”

Just 34 combinations started the final test, the showjumping, with 11 coming home clear and inside time.
