Congratulations to September’s ESNZ Volunteer of the Month, Liz Hearn from Northern Hawke’s Bay Showjumping!

Lots of people, including our young members, had only good things to say about Liz.

“She gives up so much time to come and judge and does so all over the country,” said young ESNZ member Anna Rasmussen.

According to Ash Hart, Liz plays an active role in the area, always comes to Area meetings and contributes.

“She is great at doing all the health and safety stuff for her area, is an extremely hard worker and is fantastic at organising the writers and judges for local sports meetings,” said Ash.

Liz has been involved in Jumping/Show Hunter since 2013.

And not only is Liz hardworking, “she is a really nice lady, very generous with her time and encouraging the younger riders,” according to Claire Wilson.

Thank you Liz for being someone who ‘leans in’, who puts her hand up for hard work, who really and truly contributes to the sport in whatever way is needed. Your generosity in terms of the time you give to make sure our sport runs smoothly and particularly for encouraging young riders is greatly appreciated.

Our sport is in safe hands with Liz and our other wonderful volunteers like her, so next time you are so lucky to be on the receiving end of our volunteers’ generosity, please take a moment to thank them and give them a big smile.

ESNZ Volunteer of the Month receives a gift in recognition of their contribution; Liz’s is on its way to her.
