A reminder to all jumping riders.

At the Jumping AGM 2020 a new rule was included in Art 200 General

200.7.1. At shows, yarded & stabled equines are to have their name, the name of the person responsible and the telephone number clearly visible on their head collar and/or rugs.

Please ensure your equines have a name tag on their halter and/or their rug. You can make your own by using luggage labels, ear tags, so long as it has your equine’s name, the name of the person responsible and the telephone number clearly visible on the ID tag.

The new rule enables quick identification of a horse in the event of injury in a yard or with identifying an escapee or just if a horse is in the wrong yard. The reasoning behind having the equines name is so if you have more than one bay horse at a show for example and one of them injured themselves in the yard. The person contacting you, can easily tell you which equine it is from their ID tag rather than saying the bay horse. This is a great way to be able to easily identify to be able to contact the person responsible quickly & easily.
