Hollie Falloon and Farleigh Catterick winners of the Cat B Title Class at Land Rover Horse of the Year 10-15 March 2020

Hollie Falloon didn’t let a collar bone injury interrupt her Land Rover Horse of the Year Show storming to victory in the Nga Tawa Cat B Pony Show Hunter Pony of the Year aboard Farleigh Catterick.

“He’s a real character,” she said of the 15-year-old Aussie-bred riding pony who she does a little of everything on, from eventing to Pony Club Champs, showing and more. This is their third year together and they’ve proved to be stars in the show hunter ring.

“Jasper has got his quirks that’s for sure. He loves to jump out and you can’t catch him when that’s happened but he is very special and there’s not another like him out there.”

Hollie was super determined to win the title today. “I have been trying to win a title at HOY for a long time.”

Much to her relief, they held their spot in the call back. “Three years ago in the Cat A I lost my spot, so I was a little nervous,” says Hollie. “This is a really special win for me.”

The Cat B title was Hollie’s third crown at HOY, her previous being rising star and saddle hunter titles.

Amelia Newsom (Tauranga) continued her good effort at HOY finishing second to Hollie aboard Moonspirit Jitterbug with Emily Oliver (Plimmerton) and Summer Fiesta in third.
