It’s early days but Tim Price and Ascona M lead the CCI5*-L field at Les 5 Etoiles de Pau in France this morning.
Just 14 of the 42-strong field completed their dressage after the first horse inspection overnight. Tim and his 11-year-old Holsteiner grey mare, who earlier this year won Luhmuhlen 5*, scored 28.1, to sit .7 ahead of second-placed Alexander Bragg (GBR) aboard Zagreb on 28.2 with Tom McEwen (GBR) aboard Figaro van het Broekxhof in third on 31.9.
The dressage continues tonight, with James Avery and Mr Sneezy set to go at 1407 hours (France time) and Tim aboard his second mount Wesko at 1525 hours.
