It’s been a busy weekend for New Zealand’s international showjumpers with several picking up prize money.

Uma O’Neill has had her team at the CSI5* at Spruce Meadows in Canada. She and Clockwise of Greenhill Z placed 11th in the 1.60m ATCO Queen Elizabeth II Cup which was won by Andrew Kocker (USA) aboard Carollo. She also placed fourth in the Friends of the Meadows young horse eight-year-old 1.45m class with a double clear in 36.14 seconds aboard Edelweiss. Just four were clear and inside time in the opener with Nicolas Pizarro (MEX) and Disneyland taking the win in 35.1.

Sharn Wordley has been on the podium at the CSI3* at Tryon in the United States. He and Casper were second in the FEI $36,000 1.50m Welcome Stakes. Forty-three started the class with 10 coming back for the jump-off where the top eight were all double clear. Sharn and Casper stopped the clock at 37.168 seconds with the winner Aaron Vale and major home in 37.01 seconds.

Sharn and Casper were also third in the FEI $36,000 1.50m Grand Prix. Six of the 38 starters came back for the jump-off where Adam Prudent and Romeo de Villaret ruled with their double clear in 42.412 seconds. The Kiwi combo came home with four faults in 42.769 seconds.

Sharn teamed up with Gatsby to place third in the FEI $36,000 1.45m Sunday Classic. Twenty-eight started the class with 11 coming back for the jump-off where the top nine were all double clear. The class was won by Pablo Barrios aboard Le Vio in 28.837 with Sharn crossing the flags in 30.44.

In Austria, Richard Gardner and Calisto were second in the 1.45m Grand Prix at the CSI2* Wiener Neustadt. The 35-strong class was won by Marc Bettinger (GER) aboard Casalini who were clear in the opening round and picked up a single time penalty in the second, coming home in 51.44 seconds. Richard and Calisto finished with five penalties over the two rounds, also in 51.44.

Richard picked up a fourth placing in the medium tour international aboard Cromwell 32 which was won by Manfred Scheid (GER) on Vitus K who came home clear in 60.19 seconds. Richard was also all clear in 63.29 seconds in the class that attracted 72 entries.
Richard and Roulette were ninth in the 72-strong small tour international which was won by Szabolcs Krucso (HUN) aboard Comedy Star.

Lisa Cubitt has quickly hit form after returning to Europe with numerous placings at the CSI3* Knokke Hippique Summer Circuit in Belgium. She and Jack ven het Dennehof placed third in the CSI2* 1.40m two phase class, which was won by Sarah Hubbard (USA) and Latino van de Looise Heide who were double clear in 26.06 seconds. Lisa and Jack were double clear in 27.6 seconds in the 47-strong class.

She teamed up with Warriors Glory to place sixth in the CSI3* 1.40m two phase with a double clear in 27.59 seconds and was also 11th with Avalon du Carpont in the same class. She was just in the money with Warriors Glory in the CSI3* two phase 1.45m which was won by Rik Hemeryck (BEL) aboard Ulyss Morinda.
