With their team of Double J bred horses Canterbury visitors Harry and Kaitlin Feast enjoyed a very successful Marlborough SJ Show, held at the Marlborough Equestrian Park in Blenheim over the weekend.

Riding Double J Barman, Kaitlin started their show by winning the Main Events University Class and the Horse 120cm, which ran in conjunction with each other. Brother Harry then teamed up with Barman to place Second in the Matthews Hanoverians 7yo class, which was won by Rose Alfeld and Cadenza NZPH.

Double clears from Kaitlin on Double J Blueprint and Rose on Eye Catcher NZPH saw them finish 1st= in the East Coast Performance Horses 5yo Series Class.

In the Mitavite Speedi-Beet 6yo Series class Harry and Double J Barista produced the only clear round to win.

Harry and Double J Bouncer made a return to winning form when taking out both the Horse Mini Prix and the 130cm Horse Championship.

The Dunstan Horsefeeds & Equifibre Junior Rider Series attracted a strong line up of entries.  Four riders returned to jump off but only Tayler Nalder and Icebreaker II again jumped clear to win ahead of four faulter Sophie Townsend and Kingslea Kiwi. Both these Junior Riders have just been named on the current ESNZ Youth Rider SJ Squad.

In The Dunstan Horsefeeds & Equifibre Pro Am Rider class Jack Ford and Carissa McGregor both had four faults in the first round so jumped off to decide the winner with Carissa jumping clear to win on Blytheburn Coruba.

Jess Land and Emilio MSH won the Hinterland Amateur Rider series class, ahead of local Blenheim Rider Helen Ensor and Zactac Carnival.

There were two clear rounds in the FMG Young Rider class, both belonging to Steffi Whittaker’s horses, so Eros K was First and On The Point Eve Second.

There was also a quinella in the Equissage Horse Grand Prix for Tegan Fitzsimon, with Double J Monarch in First and Windermere Cappuccino in Second place.

The Country TV Pony Grand Prix was won by the Nelson combination of Peita Milne and BG Lennox.

The Show was well supported by Canterbury riders and a number of these crossed the Cook Straight after the show to continue their season in the North Island.

The next South Island Show is hosted at the opposite end of the Island this weekend by the Southland Area at Gore. This is followed by the last ESNZ Show for the South Island season organized by the SCNO Area at Waimate on the 30-31st March.
