Briar Burnett-Grant and her Australasian team-mates have had a perfect start to the team competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, sitting on zero tied for first at the end of the round.

Trainer Hannah Burnett-Grant said Briar and Milagro Maximo jumped an awesome clear as one of three clean slates for the Australasian team. Also going clear in the team were Madi Sinderberry (AUS) aboard Zambo and Arshia Najafinia (IRI) on La Trinidad Pietro. With just the best three scores in the team counting, they are tied with Europe and North America on zero faults.

The second round is tomorrow and if there is an equality of faults there will be a jump-off to decide the medals. “Fingers crossed we medal,” says Hannah.

Incidentally, Briar was the fastest clear round today, but it doesn’t count towards the individual competition, which starts on Friday (ARG time).
