New Zealand’s superstar eventer is leading the way in the CIC2* on the opening day of competition at the Concours Complet d’Arville in Belgium.

Back-to-back four star winner Jonelle Price is in first and third places on the leaderboard with husband Tim filling the second slot.

Jonelle leads aboard Cooley Showtime on 27.1 penalty points with Tim second with Spartaco on 29.6 and Jonelle in third aboard Hester on 29.8. Caroline Powell and Lady Donnerhall are in eighth place on 32.2 with Jonelle also in 20th aboard Grappa Nera.

Forty-five of the 67-strong field have completed their dressage in the CIC2* with the rest to compete overnight.

The CIC3* gets underway tonight too with Tim Price and Ascona M the first into the arena. He also has Pats Jester at the far end of the field, with Powell lining up aboard Sinatra Frank Baby.

But all eyes will be on the ERM CIC3* which starts on Saturday evening (NZ time), and features both Tim on Kincooley Cruising, Jonelle on Cloud Dancer, Clarke Johnstone with Balmoral Sensation, and Sir Mark Todd on NZB Campino.
