Todd lines up in the CCIO3* aboard McClaren, an 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding who he rates highly. It is McClaren’s first time at Saumur but the combination were seventh at Boekelo in their only other CCIO3*. McClaren, who had his first FEI start with Todd in 2017, is by Clarimo, out of Toni 1 (by Landjunge).

The CCI3* has attracted 39 entries from Australia, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and France.

The competition gets underway on Thursday with the first of two days of dressage, followed by the cross country on Saturday and showjumping on Sunday.

Todd was third in the class at Saumur with Kiltubrid Rhapsody last year.
