Samantha McIntosh’s fourth place in today’s 1.55m at the CSIO5* in Rome was made all the more special by the people she got to celebrate the success with.

“It is a day to remember,” said McIntosh. She and her gorgeous stallion Check In 2 were one of 11 combinations from the 46 starters to come back for the jump-off with six keeping their slates clean. McIntosh and Check In

stopped the clock at 38 seconds, with winner Harrie Smolders (NED) and CAS 2 home in 34.14.

“It was such a thrill today to have Check In right up there in today’s class,” said McIntosh. “It was made all the more exceptional for me to have so many special people there to join in the fun and excitement of it all.”

The show heads into its final day tomorrow, with the Rolex Rome Grand Prix the big class on the cards with Daniel Meech and Fine the only Kiwis starting in it.
