Kiwi showjumpers have been busy offshore over the weekend, with Katie Laurie and Richard Gardner both in the money.

Gardner found form at the CSI4*/CSI2* in Salzburg, Austria, where he was fifth aboard Calisto in the CSI4* 1.45m against the clock on the Amadeus Big Tour Opening. The class was won by Lars Nieberg (GER) and Nabab de Revel who were clear in 60.27 seconds. Gardner was also clear, coming home in 63.41 seconds in the 67-strong class.

Cromwell picked up prize money in the CSI2* 1.35m Big Tour Opening, which attracted 86 starters. The class was won by Markus Saurugg (AUT) aboard Zita who were clear in 57.36 seconds, Gardner and Cromwell came in for 13th, also clear in 67.46 seconds.

Laurie placed third in the Sydney Summer Classic World Cup Qualifier aboard Springfield. Billy Raymont and Oaks Redwood won the class, with Jamie Kermond and Yandoo Oaks Consellation second.

Laurie’s third-placed efforts backed up their second place at the Adelaide CSI1*-W last month. She and Springfield also won the 1.40m class, with Eye Catcher fourth in the 1.50m. On the Point Sandy was seventh in the Mini Prix Series Final, with the grey stallion Casebrooke Lomond eighth in the same class.
